I'm in the process of integrating WordPress into the site. I'm sick of updating it manually and there's no way I'm going to be able to build a proper CMS any time soon. Creating the pages is actually easier than I thought. It's the layout that I'm sure is going to be a bitch.
I was thinking of using Symphony. It looks powerful, but I don't have the time to learn XSLT.
Anyway, I don't think the site will be complete until July. I'm already too far behind on my studies, and they are a priority. Time flies, though.
The site is going through some major revamping. The navigation has changed drastically and some content is now stored in a database. It’s not finished, though, but I wanted to start redirecting you to the updated version.
The Strahov Archives is the section that is going to require more time and dedication, so for the time being I’m taking it down. Meanwhile I will be updating the site with concept art, fan art and articles.
[EDIT] I added a new article written by member Fallen Angel, who also submitted some more concept art.
We’d like to apologise for the lack of updates. The person responsible (hello!) of updating the site is overloaded with real life work right now, which has pretty much been the only reason why this place seems to have suddenly gone quiet. The forum is certainly not quiet, so for now you might want to check that section out. We have articles waiting to be posted, so it’s not a lack of content, either.
We can say that the KTEB has been interviewed by Official Playstation Magazine UK, but unfortunately we have no idea what issue it’s going to be featured in.
Also, this summer I intend to write a small CMS, which I hope will make it easier to update the site.
[EDIT] Here’s the interview, thanks to Fallen Angel.
"The Kurtis Trent Oestrogen Brigade are one of the internet's most feared lobbying groups.
"
We spell Estrogen with an E, but whatever. Now we’ve been mentioned in Official Playstation Magazine UK, which has a big exclusive feature on Underworld and takes a minute to bash AoD in a tone we’re just bored stupid with. They also speculate which characters from previous games may be returning, and unfortunately Lara’s Mum wins with a 90% chance. By the way, we love being the Internet’s Most Feared.
We have started a Core Design Appreciation Article: an introduction written by one of our members and moderator, Acid Rush, followed by a series of articles covering the “behind the scenes” aspect of the creation of AoD. As for now we only have posted up with permission an article written by Sarah Crisman, but we hope to have more content soon.
Sorry, no updates yet. I’ve been really busy lately and now I’m ill. I can and will say that the KTEB have been mentioned on Edge’s December issue. It features an in-depth article about AoD and the many turns it took, and interviews with the people who were involved in the creation of the video game. Get yourself a copy! We’ll try to scan said article, though.
[EDIT] We have to thank Rivendell from TRF for scanning the article already. You can find it here. Or you can also read a transcript.
The Croft Codex is launching a voting campaign to discover the online community’s greatest fan fiction favourites. Check out the campaign page and fill out this form to vote.
Well, not only is the KTEB four years old this month and has received more than 5000 hits, but we’re actually working on stuff. You can submit your fanfiction (read the guidelines and then drop us an e-mail). We’re also working on a Core Design appreciation section, although that will still take a while. And yes, the gallery has been fixed again.
